Tehran, July 15 /Xinhua/ — Hengam Island, located about 2 km south of the much larger Qeshm Island and administratively part of Hormozgan Province in southern Iran, was struck by US shells on Wednesday evening. This was reported by the semi-official Iranian news agency Mehr.
According to the agency, the explosion was also heard on the island of Qeshm, but the initial investigation showed that Qeshm was not shelled. –0–
