Beijing, July 15 /Xinhua/ — On Tuesday, a new direct air route connecting the Chinese city of Harbin /administrative center of Heilongjiang Province, Northeast China/ and Russian Khabarovsk was officially launched.

According to information from the Chinese news agency “Zhongguo Xinwen She,” at approximately 15:00 on Tuesday, flight EU2925 of the Chinese airline CHENGDU AIRLINES departed from Harbin Taiping International Airport to Khabarovsk. The flight time will be approximately 1.5 hours.

It is reported that the new air route was jointly opened by the Heilongjiang Province Transportation Department, Heilongjiang Airports Management Group Co., Ltd., and CHENGDU AIRLINES, and will operate round-trip on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

After the opening of the new air route, the number of direct flights between Harbin and the main cities of the Russian Far East has increased, which, according to a representative of the Heilongjiang Provincial Transport Administration, will further allow the regional advantages of Heilongjiang Province in relations with Russia to be revealed and will promote the development of cross-border tourism and commercial and trade activities between China and the Russian Far East region.
