Bishkek, July 14 /Xinhua/ — The book “Xi Jinping on State Governance” allows the reader to grasp the ideological essence of contemporary China. This is not just a new book, but a new opportunity to better understand our close neighbor and strengthen mutual trust. With these words, former President of Kyrgyzstan Roza Otunbayeva addressed those present at the presentation of the fifth volume of the book “Xi Jinping on State Governance,” held on Monday in Kyrgyzstan’s capital, Bishkek.
The event was jointly organized by the Press Office of the State Council of the PRC, the China International Communication Group (CICG), and the Embassy of the PRC in Kyrgyzstan. About 300 representatives from political parties, media, think tanks, and broad social circles from both countries participated.
There was a bustle in the corridor. All five volumes of the book were neatly laid out on the exhibition tables. Guests eagerly took the volumes, flipped through them, and exchanged impressions.
“The world today is undergoing complex and rapid changes. The fifth volume of the book “Xi Jinping on State Governance” shows us a path based on the pursuit of dialogue and caring for the people’s well-being. Undoubtedly, its publication is extremely timely,” shared with Xinhua correspondent the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Alikbek Djekshenkulov.
He noted that the work encapsulates the practical wisdom of China’s development and will serve as an important reference material for the entire world to study the Chinese experience. According to the former minister, successful state governance is impossible without a clear long-term strategy, determination to overcome difficulties, and constant attention to the real needs of the people. “I advise Kyrgyz readers to carefully read this work and thoughtfully consider its profound content,” added A. Dzhekshenkulov.
The State Secretary of Kyrgyzstan, Arslan Koichiev, in response to questions from a Xinhua correspondent, emphasized that he was deeply impressed by the ideas presented in the fifth volume about mutual enrichment of civilizations and the building of a community of a shared future for humanity. He noted that the concept of building a community with a shared future for humanity has important practical significance and attracts universal attention in Central Asian countries. “The fifth volume of the book ‘Xi Jinping on Governance’ convinces us that only through dialogue between civilizations can the prosperity and well-being of all humanity be ensured,” the politician emphasized.
During the presentation, the Chinese side gifted the guests from Kyrgyzstan the third volume of the book “Xi Jinping on State Governance” in Kyrgyz and the fifth volume of this book in Russian.
The President of the Congress of Women of Kyrgyzstan, Zamira Akbagysheva, admitted that participating in the event inspired her greatly. As she explained, the fifth volume answers the question of how the state should exercise governance in order to achieve modernization. According to her, the essay makes it clear that although the paths of state governance may vary in different countries, there is a universal truth — everything must be aimed at the welfare of the people.
Guests at the event exchanged views on topics such as the joint construction of the “Belt and Road,” building a community with a shared future for humanity, mutual learning, and mutual enrichment of civilizations.
Syyagul Karaman, a journalist from the Kyrgyz news agency Koom-press, who covered this year’s “two sessions” in China, shared her impressions after reading the sections of the fifth volume dedicated to China’s relations with Central Asian countries. In them, as the journalist noted, the prospects for further development of relations between China and the Central Asian countries are clearly outlined, and guidelines are indicated to confidently move together along the path of a shared future, guided by the spirit of mutual respect, good neighborliness, friendship, and cooperation for mutual benefit.
Emilbek Kaptagaev, who translated the book “Xi Jinping on State Governance” into Kyrgyz, noted that the fifth volume is dedicated not only to issues of China’s modernization but also contains a profound reflection on the most important problems of the modern era related to the fate of all humanity and its future development. According to the translator, this book will help Kyrgyz readers gain a fuller understanding of China’s domestic and foreign policies.
