Young scientists from the State University of Management discussed the formation of a scientific personnel reserve, space development, the use of neural networks, and the connection between science, education, and business at the 14th All-Russian Congress of Councils of Young Scientists (SMU) and Student Scientific Societies (SNO).
During the three days of the congress, more than a thousand participants from different regions of the country discussed the most important issues of scientific and technological development.
Our university was represented at the event by the chairman of the SMU, assistant of the Department of State and Municipal Administration Anna Sotnikova, the director of the Business Incubator, assistant of the Department of Logistics and Transport and Technological Systems Dmitry Rogov, and the chairman of the SNO, second-year student Kseniya Kudryavtseva.
The main event of the first day was the plenary session “Science and AI: new horizons of scientific and technological progress” with the participation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Valery Falkov. In his speech, the head of the department emphasized that AI and machine learning are becoming an integral part of the scientific process, and research results are increasingly not just articles, but large data sets and models.
“A researcher of the future requires special competencies, since working with artificial intelligence is becoming a sort of new literacy in the scientific world,” noted Valery Falkov.
In addition, within the business program, attendees and speakers discussed the development of a network of youth laboratories, the role of the joint work of CMU, SNO, and student design bureaus in modern science, and the formation of a scientific personnel reserve.
On the second day of the Congress, representatives of technology companies, startups, and research institutes spoke about current business models available to young scientists and helping to implement technological developments.
The final day was dedicated to the Decade of Science and Technology: participants will be able to learn more about the events and initiatives of the Decade, including “Science Tourism,” “Science Volunteering,” “Science Nearby,” and “Third Semester.”
It should be noted that representatives of the State University of Management participate annually in the All-Russian Congress of Councils of Young Scientists and Student Scientific Societies, where they learn more about opportunities to get involved in addressing the most important tasks of society and country’s development, including the implementation of Russia’s Scientific and Technological Development Strategy.
