The regional brand “Chukotka – the dawn of Russia” will form the basis of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug’s exhibition at the “Far East Street” fair, which will take place as part of the Eastern Economic Forum. The exhibition will introduce visitors to the district’s unique geographical location as the territory where the dawn is first seen in Russia and the world. The exhibition is organized by the “Roscongress” Foundation with the support of the Office of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russia in the Far Eastern Federal District.
“The ‘Far East Street’ exhibition will introduce the participants and guests of the Eastern Economic Forum to the diversity of culture, traditions, and life in this territory. For most people, Chukotka is a mysterious northern land. The more people learn about its opportunities, the more investors and tourists will come to the region. And, of course, as in the previous year, we expect a rich cultural program, which invariably attracts the attention of visitors and allows each participant of the EEF to touch the originality of Chukotka, to feel its beauty and strength,” noted Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Chairman of the Government – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Far Eastern Federal District, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Eastern Economic Forum.
The architectural design of the Chukotka pavilion is inspired by the natural forms of the Arctic. The smooth lines of the structures resemble snowy hills, ice hummocks, and the movement of the northern wind. The space combines modern technology, eco-friendly design, and images of northern nature, creating a recognizable visual identity for the region.
“It is precisely in Chukotka that Russia’s new day begins. Our pavilion at the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition is an opportunity to showcase the region as it truly is: strong, distinctive, and looking toward the future. Here we will talk about the large-scale projects that are transforming the Arctic, about our culture, traditions, and people. I invite everyone to get acquainted with Chukotka,” said Vladislav Kuznetsov, governor of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.
The entrance to the region’s pavilion will be designed in the style of the dwellings of the indigenous peoples of Chukotka – yarangas, and inside, guests will find a modern technological space where traditions and innovations become part of the unified history of the region.
The interior exhibition of the stand reveals Chukotka as a territory of opportunities and sustainable development. Through modern multimedia solutions, interactive installations, and real stories of residents, visitors will be able to get acquainted with the unique way of life of the region, its culture, economy, and prospects.
The central element of the pavilion will be the interactive zone “Chukotka. Territory of the first ray of the sun,” dedicated to the unique natural phenomena and features of life in the Arctic. An interactive map of the region will be placed here, allowing visitors to the space to control the sunrise, observe the movement of the sun over the district’s territory, activate the northern lights effect, learn about the polar day and polar night, as well as discover the natural features of Russia’s easternmost region.
A separate area in the pavilion will be dedicated to the residents of the region. At the site, visitors will be able to explore the stories of the people who are shaping modern Chukotka: entrepreneurs, artisans, reindeer herders, athletes, cultural workers, and representatives of the creative industries. The zone features real stories of local residents, video interviews, and multimedia portraits.
The economic potential of Chukotka will be showcased primarily in the pavilion’s multimedia space. The booth will present the region’s key investment projects, the achievements of the extractive industry, and the district’s role in the development of the Arctic. It will clearly demonstrate the capabilities of the Northern Sea Route, territorial development prospects, and the investment appeal of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.
The region’s exhibit will also be connected to the anniversary dates of 2026: the 95th anniversary of the Uelen bone carving workshop—one of the oldest art centers in the Arctic and a keeper of the traditional arts of the indigenous peoples of Chukotka, as well as the 50th anniversary of the Wrangel Island State Nature Reserve—a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a unique Arctic territory of global significance.
The pavilion’s cultural program includes vocal and dance performances. Visitors to the stand will be able to get acquainted with the musical and dance traditions of the peoples of Chukotka, as well as works by local performers and stage productions that reflect the region’s uniqueness.
Following the results of the Eastern Economic Forum 2025, the pavilion of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug became one of the best among the exhibitions of the Far Eastern regions, winning in the nomination “Best Cultural Program.”
The 11th Eastern Economic Forum will be held from September 1 to 4 on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok. During these days, the exhibition will be available to forum participants, and on September 5, 6, and 7 it will open to everyone interested. The organizer of the EEF is the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Government of Russia.
