At the Green Theater of VDNH, the winners of the “It’s a Family Tradition” contest were awarded – the most popular and large-scale project of the presidential platform “Russia – Land of Opportunities.” Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova participated in the solemn award ceremony.

In the final of the second season of the “This Is Our Family” competition of the presidential platform “Russia – Land of Opportunity,” 328 family teams from 85 regions of Russia participated. Over the course of four days, the finalists underwent evaluation tasks, took part in events dedicated to the cultural code of Russia, and interacted with families from different regions of the country.

Sergey Kiriyenko, the First Deputy Chief of the Presidential Administration of Russia, addressed the finalists. He noted that the competition had become not just a contest, but a new tradition for families across the country.

“Our President said that Russia is a family of families. And you are a vivid example of this. Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to take part a little, to walk around, to watch how the competitive tasks were conducted. Yes, everyone was nervous, the competition was tough. But do you know what was the main thing I saw when I was an observer in the hall? Love, respect. The way you carefully supported each other, cheered for each other, helped one another — this is an incredible example of warmth, true love, genuine respect, and happiness. You, your families, are the pride of Russia. Happy holiday to you!” said Sergey Kirienko.

Sergey Kiriyenko expressed special gratitude for the creative approach to the costumes: the participants were able to showcase not only their family but also their native region, its traditions, and culture. He also announced that at the meeting of the supervisory board, a decision was made to launch an open vote to select the seven best costumes. Their creators will have the opportunity to work with the best designers in Russia to create a clothing collection.

Tatiana Golikova congratulated the finalists on Family, Love, and Fidelity Day and noted that the competition, part of the national project “Family,” has become one of the most in-demand projects dedicated to the family.

“Each family represents not only itself – it represents its region, its traditions, which is especially valuable in the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia. Through you, we learn even more about our country, our peoples, more than 190 of whom live on the territory of our state. In the second season of the competition, 726 thousand people participated – almost 200 thousand families from across the country together with relatives living in 82 countries. We were amazed by the scale of the project two years ago, but the second season surpassed the records of the first by almost a quarter. This means that the decision of our President to launch the competition is supported nationwide. It is especially pleasant to see many large families, families with a long family history, multi-generational families, and family dynasties here. Of the 328 finalist families, such make up the absolute majority,” emphasized Tatyana Golikova.

Almost 200,000 families from across the country – from Kamchatka to Kaliningrad – applied to participate. 328 teams made it to the final. Each included representatives of at least three generations.

The winners of the second season of the competition were 60 families, who received certificates worth 5 million rubles for improving housing conditions, which they can spend specifically on purchasing a house or an apartment. All finalist families will go on family trips.
