Having served for 13 years on the Nansha Islands, and then moving to work at the Jiangmen Customs, Fang Donghong has been engaged in full-time Party work for 24 years. Embodying the spirit of the defenders of Chinese islands and reefs in the South China Sea, he meticulously analyzes gaps in regulations, has led the development of more than 30 regulatory documents, and has contributed to standardizing grassroots Party building.
For 10 consecutive years, he ensured “zero error” in the statistics on party members, verified the documents of more than 320 people for party admission, and solved over 900 practical problems at the grassroots level.
To improve the quality of party building, he participated in the development and creation of an educational center for party building, created the online platform “Micro-Party School” and the training model “Leading Personnel” (the “Lead Goose” program), and also led the development of training courses used by 22,000 people from customs authorities nationwide. He turned his mobile phone into a “24/7 hotline for party building issues” to answer questions and clarify doubts of party workers at any time, and also compiled a “pocket book” that became a practical guide for grassroots work.
Colleagues call him “tireless,” and he himself says: “Party work fills me with meaning, and every time I manage to get a job done, I feel genuine joy.”
