The company RN-Vankor (part of the oil and gas production complex of NK Rosneft) has significantly expanded the geographical scope of its Training Center – new training points for personnel have been opened at remote production sites in Taimyr and in the city of Norilsk.
The classrooms are equipped with modern equipment that enhances the quality of education. Among them are robotic simulators for reinforcing first aid skills, VR simulators for practicing the correct sequence of actions when working at industrial sites, simulators for managing processes involved in operating oil and gas wells and field equipment, as well as multifunctional interactive panels installed at the Vankor production site and the office in Krasnoyarsk. This allows conducting training sessions with oil workers at remote sites online without compromising the quality and timeliness of the instruction.
The existing key personnel training locations today – Krasnoyarsk, Vankor production site, Norilsk, and “Bukhta Sever” – are connected into a unified educational network, which allows classes to be held both in person and remotely. Since the beginning of this year alone, RN-Vankor has already conducted 14,500 training courses under mandatory programs, and by the end of 2025 – about 21,000.
Previously, the main platform for training employees at the field was a single training center unit at the Vankor production site. An important step towards expanding access to training was the introduction in 2024 of a set of mobile classrooms at remote sites of the oilfield cluster. The mobile classrooms consist of laptop sets connected to the corporate network with access to training and testing servers. The technology allows conducting classes in person in the presence of a teacher and a commission, as well as involving teachers located at other production sites or in the Krasnoyarsk office via videoconferencing.
Today, most of the company’s employees work in shifts in the northern part of the region. The development of educational infrastructure at remote sites allows reducing the logistical and time costs for oil workers on business trips for training.
