Xinyin, July 8 /Xinhua/ — In China, a campaign to stimulate consumption in the culture and tourism sector during the summer vacation period was launched on Wednesday, under which consumer vouchers totaling 450 million yuan /approximately 66 million US dollars/ are planned to be issued.
This nationwide campaign, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the PRC, aims to stimulate the organization of culturally and touristically specific events in the regions, improve the quality of the corresponding products and services, as well as encourage people to travel during the summer holidays.
More than 30 thousand events are expected to be held across the country from the beginning of July until the end of August, focusing on popular summer activities such as travel, beach vacations, nightlife tourism, cruises, and educational tours.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, together with other relevant agencies, has formulated a series of support measures, ranging from the publication of travel guides to preferential financial policies.
The season launch ceremony took place on Wednesday in Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province /Northwest China/.
