Investments of individuals in securities on the Moscow Exchange stock market in June 2026 increased by 32% compared to June 2025, reaching 264.1 billion rubles.
Private investors’ investments in stocks in June increased almost sixfold compared to June 2025, reaching 30.2 billion rubles. Investments in bonds amounted to 231 billion rubles, which is one and a half times more than in June 2025. Investments in mutual funds totaled 2.9 billion rubles. Based on the results of the first half of 2026, the total volume of private investors’ investments in securities on the Moscow Exchange grew by 70% compared to the same period last year and amounted to nearly 1.5 trillion rubles.
The number of private investors with brokerage accounts on the Moscow Exchange as of the end of June 2026 amounted to 41.9 million (an increase of 265 thousand), with more than 80 million accounts opened by them. In June, more than 3 million people conducted trades on the Moscow Exchange, of whom approximately 358 thousand were qualified investors.
The share of individuals in the volume of stock trading in June was 63.5%, in bond trading – 12.8%, in the derivatives market – 46.8%.
In June, more than 673.9 thousand individual investors made transactions on the Moscow Exchange’s stock and derivatives markets during the weekends; their share in weekend trading was 83% in the stock market, 97% in the bond market, and 74% in the derivatives market.
In June 2026, the popular portfolio of private investors, consisting of the most popular securities, included common and preferred shares of Sberbank (31.8% and 7.3% respectively), common shares of LUKOIL (11.6%), Gazprom (11.6%), VTB (9.7%), T-Technology (6.6%), X5 (5.7%), Yandex (5.6%), Polyus (5.1%), and Norilsk Nickel (4.9%).
The top 10 Russian unit investment funds (BPIF) in the portfolios of private investors included money market asset investment funds LQDT (45.2%), AKMM (19.2%), SBMM (16.6%), BCSD (2.3%), and AMNR (1.9%), variable coupon bond investment funds AKFB (3.6%) and SBFR (3.5%), a money market and bond investment fund SAFE (2.7%), a corporate ruble bond fund SBRB (2.7%), and an actively managed bond investment fund AKMB (2.4%).
The most popular stocks from the MOEX IPO Index in private investor transactions as of June 2026 were shares of MTS-Bank (MBNK), B2B-RTS (BTBR), Europlan (LEAS), Zaymer (ZAYM), Glorax (GLRX), VI.ru (VSEH), Arenadata Group (DATA), APRI (APRI), DOM.RF (DOMRF), and Promomed (PRMD).
The number of individual investment accounts (IIAs) as of the end of June was 6.4 million (+62 thousand in June). Trading turnover on IIAs in June 2026 amounted to 327.2 billion rubles. Within the turnover structure, 50% were transactions with stocks, 22% with bonds, and 28% with investment fund units.
Regions leading in the number of opened IIS accounts: Moscow (644 thousand accounts), Moscow region (377.6 thousand), and Saint Petersburg (317 thousand). They are followed by Krasnodar Krai (214 thousand), Sverdlovsk region (211 thousand accounts), Republic of Bashkortostan (193 thousand), Tatarstan (173.7 thousand), Rostov region (170 thousand), Chelyabinsk region (154 thousand), and Samara region (144.4 thousand).
