Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin held a working meeting with the Governor of Kursk Oblast, Alexander Khinshtein. The parties discussed issues of developing the border region, measures to support residents, and infrastructure restoration.

“Given the complex situation in the Kursk region, we understand the challenges faced by both the residents and the regional team. Despite the current conditions, the region has good potential and continues to develop. For example, 10 territories covering 445 hectares have been designated for comprehensive development. As of today, three KRT projects have been initiated. The main road network of the Kursk region totals over 1,000 km, of which 89.52% is in standard condition by the end of 2025, exceeding planned targets. Additionally, 92.3% of federal highways and 56.3% of regional roads have been brought up to standard. Systematic work continues in the region, for which I want to thank Alexander Evseevich and his team,” said Marat Khusnullin.
Federal support mechanisms are being applied for the development of settlements in the Kursk region. Thus, the implementation of projects under the infrastructure budget credit program since 2022 has contributed to the commissioning of more than 450 thousand square meters of housing, attracted 33.8 billion rubles of extrabudgetary funds, as well as the receipt of tax and non-tax revenues amounting to 2.6 billion rubles.
Earlier, the Government Commission on Regional Development approved the provision of treasury infrastructure loans for projects to modernize utility infrastructure in Kursk, Zheleznogorsk, Oktyabrsky, Bolshe-Soldatsky, Khomutovsky, and Rylsky districts.

We have a colossal task ahead not only to restore what has been destroyed but also to revive the entire regional economy, improve the quality of life for the people of Kursk, and relaunch the spiritual and cultural heritage. The support of the President of Russia and the Government of the country is, of course, fundamental for us, and I am deeply grateful for the decisions being made in favor of the region. The people of Kursk feel the help of the whole country every day,” noted Alexander Khinshtein.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to supporting residents of border territories, including through preferential mortgages, as well as the completion of problematic shared-equity construction projects. Following the meeting, appropriate instructions were given.
