Financial News: Dishonest Participants Are Leaving the Microfinance Market.

In January – March 2026, the volume of loans issued by consumer credit cooperatives (CCCs) amounted to 12.3 billion rubles, which is 5% less than a year earlier.

This largely happened because the Bank of Russia excluded cooperatives associated with certain large microfinance organizations from the state register. Against the backdrop of increased measures to limit citizens’ over-indebtedness, a number of microfinance organizations began transferring part of their disbursements to related credit consumer cooperatives in order to reduce regulatory pressure. The activities of such cooperatives did not comply with legal requirements.
