Saint Petersburg, July 4 /Xinhua/ — Over the past 105 years, the Communist Party of China /CPC/ has transformed China from one of the poorest agricultural countries in the world into the largest industrial and trading power. As noted by the Chinese diplomat, from 1949 to 2025 the average life expectancy in China increased from 35 years to 79.25. “Today, a Chinese person lives on average 44 years longer than in the early years after the founding of New China. Behind this figure are millions of families who have moved from lack of medical care to accessible healthcare, from malnutrition to a healthy and long life,” he pointed out.
China has lifted nearly 800 million people out of poverty, achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals 10 years ahead of schedule. According to Luo Zhanhui, such achievements are based on the CPC’s clear understanding of its mission. This party is not tied to electoral cycles and does not represent narrow group interests. It bears a deep responsibility for raising the living standards of the entire Chinese people and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and therefore it does not just put forward slogans but addresses real problems.
The same logic is followed by the CPC in the development of Sino-Russian relations, the consul believes. Thanks to this, over 76 years of diplomatic relations, China and Russia have brought interaction to a qualitatively new level, achieving comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation in the new era. “These relations are not abstract; they rely on concrete figures. In 2025, the volume of bilateral trade reached 228.1 billion dollars,” wrote Luo Zhanhui. He noted that in 2026, the dynamics of bilateral trade between the two countries accelerated, showing a 22.9 percent increase in January-May compared to the same period in 2025.
According to the consul general, looking back at the 105-year history of the CPC, Western researchers often call China’s achievements the “Chinese miracle.” But behind this miracle is a party that truly puts the interests of the people first and is capable of turning plans into concrete actions.
