Ankara, July 3 /Xinhua/ — On Wednesday, a presentation of the fifth volume of the book “Xi Jinping on State Governance” was held here, attended by representatives of the government, scholars, and publishers from China and Turkey.

The event was jointly organized by the Press Office of the State Council of the PRC, the China International Communication Group (CICG), and the Chinese Embassy in Turkey. More than 200 representatives from the publishing industry, think tanks, media, and other sectors from both countries took part in the presentation.

Participants noted that the book is an authoritative work that comprehensively and systematically presents the latest achievements in Xi Jinping’s ideas on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. The book vividly demonstrates the theory and practice of Chinese modernization on the new journey, and also offers a profound exposition of China’s vision and proposals for advancing the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.

The event date coincided with the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Turkey. Participants stated that exchanging experiences in state governance, especially on the topic of modernization, will help the parties deepen mutual political trust, facilitate the alignment of development strategies, and allow both sides to move forward together on the path of modernization.

Speaking at the event, the Vice Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Celal Adan, stated that the fifth volume of the book “Xi Jinping on Governance” is a valuable guide for understanding the direction of China’s policies and its strategic thinking on global issues.

He said that Turkey is ready to use this event as an opportunity to further deepen exchanges between the legislative bodies of the two countries and practical cooperation in various areas, to strengthen the linkage between the “Belt and Road” initiative and the Middle Corridor, as well as to achieve new progress in cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and investment, humanitarian and cultural exchanges, and tourism.

Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Gekhan Yazgi said that holding the event is very inspiring. The book systematically explains that the CCP, adhering to the concept of people-centered development, has achieved sustainable and healthy socio-economic development in China and maintained long-term social stability. He added that this provides positive inspiration to the international community, especially Turkey.

“Turkey is ready to deepen humanitarian exchanges and mutual intercivilizational learning with China, giving new impetus to bilateral friendship and cooperation,” said the official.

The well-known Turkish sinologist Giray Fidan noted that books serve as a bridge connecting different civilizations and play an important role in cultural exchange.

“The translation and publication of the book ‘Xi Jinping on Governance’ into many languages is a concrete embodiment of the call by the President of China, Xi Jinping, for civilizations to overcome alienation through exchanges, creating new opportunities for a better understanding of China worldwide,” the scholar emphasized.
