Moscow, July 3 /Xinhua/ — The concept of self-revolution is a distinctive feature of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and a key approach to understanding its governance. This opinion was expressed by the Consul General of the PRC in Yekaterinburg, Luo Shixun, in an authored article dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the CPC. The article was published on Thursday in the “Regional Newspaper” of the Sverdlovsk Region of Russia.
“Self-revolution is a distinctive feature of the Communist Party of China as a party with a history of more than 100 years. The greatness of the Communist Party of China lies not in the fact that it never makes mistakes, but in that it is never afraid to acknowledge its shortcomings, boldly faces problems, and courageously carries out self-revolution,” the publication says.
As the Chinese diplomat noted, the spirit of self-revolution runs as a red thread throughout the entire history of the CPC. “During major achievements, the CPC constantly brings self-revolution to a qualitatively new level,” he emphasized.
Luo Shixun reminded that the Party has created an ever-improving system of supervision over power: the “Eight-Point Regulations” were developed and implemented to regulate the behavior of party bodies and personnel; the system of intra-party normative acts and the system of inspection checks and audits are constantly being improved; a deep reform of the disciplinary control and supervision system has taken place. “All these measures pursue one main goal: to ensure that power is always used to serve the people. Commitment to the principle of Party governance based on rules and strengthening the institutional system of self-revolution has become the unique code of the CPC’s ‘rule’ in the new era,” the diplomat assured.
In his opinion, the deepest self-revolution has been the fight against corruption. It is the Party’s unchanging political stance: anyone who has violated party discipline or the country’s laws, whether in service or in retirement, will be strictly prosecuted regardless of their position, workplace, or field of activity. Thus, since the 18th Congress of the CPC at the end of 2012, the Party has been able to pave the way for a fight against corruption with Chinese characteristics, aimed at comprehensively eliminating both the “symptoms” and the “root causes,” while simultaneously achieving a triple effect: “so that Party members neither dare to, have the ability to, nor want to be corrupt.”
As the Chinese diplomat noted, under the spirit of self-revolution, the CPC consistently maintains vigorous vitality and combat effectiveness, steadily leading the Chinese people with confidence along the path of modernization.
“Standing at a new historical juncture, the Communist Party of China is ready to continue strengthening inter-party ties with all countries, including Russia, engaging in exchanges of experience in party building and state governance, tirelessly offering Chinese solutions and sharing Chinese wisdom for the development of global political culture and the progress of political civilization of humanity in the era of globalization,” concluded Luo Shixun.
