On July 9, 2026, trading of settlement futures on shares of the iShares MSCI South Korea ETF investment fund will begin on the Moscow Exchange derivatives market. The new derivatives instruments are aimed at a broad audience and are designed to expand the possibilities for transactions with global assets under Russian jurisdiction amid growing demand for additional diversification.
Contracts for shares of the iShares MSCI South Korea ETF provide access to a diversified portfolio of securities from over 80 of the largest companies in South Korea — one of the world’s leading high-tech economies. The fund invests in the stocks of leaders in global sectors such as semiconductors, electronics, automotive, financial, and industrial industries.
Maria Patrikeeva, Managing Director of the Derivatives Market at the Moscow Exchange:
“Demand for tools to work with global assets within the Russian jurisdiction remains high. Around 20 thousand clients conclude futures transactions on foreign securities monthly, and the average daily trading volume in this segment reached a record 18.5 billion rubles in June. The new contracts will allow diversifying risks and implementing additional trading strategies without leaving the regulated framework. This is a logical development of the Moscow Exchange’s product line in response to the steady demand from clients.”
