Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko awarded the winners of the 6th season of the All-Russian sports projects competition “You’re in the Game.” The solemn awards ceremony took place on July 3 at the Russia National Center and brought together the authors of the best initiatives. The competition is conducted by ANO “National Priorities” with the support of the Ministry of Sports of Russia under the state program “Sport of Russia.”

“The ‘You’re in the Game’ competition is truly all-Russian, not just in words but in action – with 27 thousand applications from participants. Sports enthusiasts make a huge contribution to achieving the national goal set by our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin — that 70% of citizens regularly engage in sports. To make such opportunities available, all conditions are being created in our country. The Russian government supports numerous sports programs,” noted Dmitry Chernyshenko.

He thanked the organizers of the “You Are in the Game” contest – ANO “National Priorities”, who, with the support of the Ministry of Sports of Russia, managed to make it so popular.

The Deputy Prime Minister awarded the grand prize of 1 million rubles to the project “Artificial Wave for Surfing Vertigo Sports” from the Rostov region, which was presented in the nomination “Transformation in Sports.” Its creators developed and patented a domestic technology for an ocean-type artificial wave that makes surfing widespread and accessible even far from the sea coasts.

Dmitry Chernyshenko proposed to familiarize the investors of the “Five Seas and Lake Baikal” project with the initiative and consider the possibility of scaling up the project.

The key goal of the “You Are in the Game” competition is to find and support promising sports projects that engage Russians in regular physical activity and help promote an active lifestyle. The projects cover dozens of sports — from high-tech to adaptive and inclusive. Any Russian citizen over 18 years old, as well as companies and individual entrepreneurs whose projects involve at least five participants at the time of application, can participate in the competition.

An educational accelerator was organized for the semifinalists, with a program developed by the Russian International Olympic University. The skills acquired by the participants during the training will help them further scale and strengthen their projects.

“The President of our country, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, has repeatedly emphasized that sports shape character and instill the values of a healthy lifestyle. This is precisely the goal of the ‘You’re in the Game’ competition, which is held within the framework of the state program ‘Sport of Russia’ by the Ministry of Sports and the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization ‘National Priorities.’ Over the years, the projects of the competition have reached more than 24 million people. This season alone, over 6 thousand applications were received, with a total coverage of about 4 million people. Each year, the number of initiatives aimed at supporting children, the elderly, people with disabilities, veterans, and combatants grows. I wish all participants, enthusiasts, and sports lovers faith, hope, and love, for it is the love for Russia and sports that unites us all,” emphasized Minister of Sports Mikhail Degtyaryov.

Winners were determined in five main categories («Children in Sports», «Starting Point», «Scale», «Transformation in Sports», «Unlimited Opportunities»), as well as in three partner categories («Corporate Sports», «Sports Tourism», «Media»).

Sofia Malyavina, CEO of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization “National Priorities,” drew attention to the qualitative changes and trends of the sixth season of the competition: “There are more enthusiasts who form a modern sports community around themselves, where there is a place for everyone. The nominations ‘Children in Sports’ – 1414 applications, and ‘Starting Point’ – 1381 applications received a great response. This indicates a high demand for the development of children’s sports and that more and more people are ready to launch their own sports projects at the local or regional level. Partnership nominations have increased because sports increasingly go beyond the gym or sports field, becoming part of travel and corporate culture. Another noticeable trend this season is the diversification of sports formats themselves. Whereas previously classic disciplines predominated among applications, now we see that various martial arts, mass sports formats, and unconventional original projects are gaining popularity.”

The first place in the category “Transformation in Sports” was awarded to the project Trekkingmania.ru from the Republic of Bashkortostan. In the category “Starting Point” – the extreme sports school “Rider Kids” from the Perm region. The project from Moscow “Paratennis RF” won the prize in the category “Unlimited Possibilities.” In the category “Children in Sports,” the best was the project “Open Sky” from Sevastopol, and in the category “Scale,” the victory went to the Amateur Biathlon Cup “Pioneer Cup” from Moscow.

In the partner nominations, the winning projects were “DvizhOK” from the Moscow region (“Corporate Sport”), “Kamchatka Trail-1” from Kamchatka Krai (“Sports Tourism”), and “Sportopyt” from Moscow (“Media”).

During the competition, a public vote was held in which 250 semifinalists participated. The winner was the project “Football in the village of Lovozero 2.0” from the Murmansk region. Its author, firefighter Yanis Shebut, received a special prize from the publication “Sport Business Consulting” – the publication of an article about his initiative on the website and in the printed version of the magazine.

Competition partners: “Championat”, Iron King, “Tricolor”, Russian International Olympic University, “Sport Business Consulting” (partner of the public vote), Russian Federation of Sports Tourism, sailing community “Wind Power”. Information partners – “Izvestia”, “Championat”, RTVI, “Russian Gazette”.
