Beijing, July 3 /Xinhua/ — On Friday, China rejected a report by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration that issued negative conclusions regarding China on issues of illegal fishing and other matters.

The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Geng Shuang, stated at a regular briefing for journalists that the so-called “conclusions” made in accordance with the internal legislation of the United States have neither factual evidence nor grounds in international law.

“This is blatant political manipulation, whose malicious purpose is to hinder the development of the Chinese fishing industry in waters of remote areas. We condemn and reject this move,” noted the Chinese diplomat.

According to an official representative, China is a responsible fishing power, while the United States, on the contrary, is known for its actions in illegal fishing, marine resource depletion, and ocean pollution.

“The United States must, first and foremost, rethink its actions rather than disparage others,” emphasized Guo Jiakun. –0–
