Beijing, July 2 /Xinhua/ — The Chairman of the PRC, Xi Jinping, called the 105-year history of the Communist Party of China /CPC/ “the most magnificent epic” of the Chinese nation and urged the party to boldly move forward to transform China into a modernized socialist country by the set deadline.
Speaking at the meeting marking the 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, Xi Jinping, who is also the General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, called on party members to strengthen their sense of confidence and to consistently strive to fulfill the missions and tasks of the party in the new march into a new era.
Founded in 1921 in a weak, poverty-stricken China suffering from humiliations at the hands of other countries, the CCP grew from a small group of just over 50 members into the world’s largest ruling party, possessing enormous global influence.
Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of achieving the goal of fully implementing socialist modernization by the middle of this century.
“Time stops for no one, and history doesn’t either,” he said.
According to him, it is necessary to adhere to the main theory, the main line, and the main strategy of the party in order to “not be afraid that clouds may obscure the view and to move forward at full sail, without deviating from the course.”
Emphasizing that the party must firmly rely on the people to accomplish great historical achievements, Xi Jinping called on party members to “continue to strengthen the spirit of entrepreneurship aimed at achieving success.”
He also called on the entire party to actively respond to risks and challenges on the path of steady progress.
“China is entering a development period in which strategic opportunities, risks, and challenges coexist, and uncertain and unpredictable factors are increasing. We must always be prepared to endure severe trials, whether they are extremely serious or even catastrophic risks and challenges,” he said.
Xi Jinping noted that as unprecedented significant changes over the past hundred years gain momentum, the world is entering a new period of turbulence and transformation, and humanity once again stands at a crossroads of choice.
“We must continuously promote the formation of a community with a shared future for mankind,” he said.
Xi Jinping also emphasized the need to consistently and steadily advance comprehensive strengthening of intra-party governance, as well as to decisively win the intense, protracted, and all-encompassing battle against corruption.
“All party members must remain faithful to our original goal and never forget our mission, maintain humility and caution, work hard and selflessly, and fight bravely and skillfully,” he added.
According to the data, by the end of 2025, the number of CCP members reached nearly 101.29 million people. By the end of 2025, the number of grassroots CCP organizations exceeded 5.43 million.
At the meeting, Xi Jinping presented the highest party award—the “July 1st” Order—to exemplary members of the CPC.
