On July 2, “People’s Daily” online — Recently, the first robot school in Zhejiang Province opened in the city of Hangzhou. The first “students” were 30 robots of various models.

The school was established as a platform for advanced training and certification of robots in the field of professional skills. Its founders include the Robotics Institute of Zhejiang University, the Zhejiang Institute of Quality Sciences, and a number of leading industry companies.

The educational model is built by analogy with human professional training: there are four departments – technical, medical, artistic, and sports. Each robot goes through a full cycle: entrance examination, specialized training, practical exam, and final certification. Those who successfully pass the graduation tests receive a certificate awarding a qualification level in their specialty, marking the transition from “bare metal” to a finished functional product.
