On June 26, bachelor’s degree graduates in the field of “Operation of transport-technological machines and complexes” were able to take a professional exam to confirm their qualifications“Warranty Accounting Engineer for Motor Vehicles”(6th qualification level).
This opportunity has been made available since 2022 for graduates of the automotive and road faculty of SPbGASU at the Qualification Assessment Center “Soyuz Avtoprom Severo-Zapad” as part of a pilot project combining the state final certification and independent qualification assessment. For this purpose, our university has its own accredited examination center and qualification assessment experts.
The significance of this project lies in the fact that, in addition to academic qualifications, graduates can confirm their compliance with industry requirements, since industry qualifications and assessment tools are developed directly by employers. For the graduating departments, the GIA-NOK project is an effective tool for independent assessment of training quality and a source of information for adjusting educational programs in accordance with the latest industry trends.
This year, the initiative group consisted of nine students. The professional exam included theoretical and practical parts. As part of the theoretical section, students completed test tasks that assessed knowledge across the full range of labor functions of a warranty engineer. For the practical part, it was necessary to analyze a real case provided by the partners.
The students had at their disposal photographic materials, service booklets with descriptions of the warranty policy and notes on completed maintenance, vehicle registration documents, process sheets, and parts catalogs. The purpose of the practical part was to draft a claim report and make a correct, well-founded judgment on whether the case was covered by warranty or not.
Eight out of nine students successfully completed the tasks, confirming the high quality of training and the practice-oriented nature of the educational program.
The GIA-NOK project at SPbGASU is planned to be developed and improved.
