Dushanbe, July 2 /Xinhua/ — Eleven people, including two drivers, died on Thursday morning as a result of a collision between a truck and two passenger cars on the Dushanbe-Kulyab-Khorog highway in Tajikistan. This was reported on Telegram by the republic’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“On the Dushanbe-Kulyab-Khorog highway, 11 people died. The accident occurred on the morning of July 2 at the 32nd kilometer of the highway in the village of Elok, Vahdat city,” the agency stated. According to authorities, the accident happened around 06:30 local time.
“As a result of the traffic accident, the driver of the truck, the driver of the Toyota Prado, as well as nine passengers who were inside the passenger cars died at the scene. Measures are currently being taken to establish the identities of the deceased passengers,” the agency reported.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic, the head of the State Automobile Inspectorate (SAI), the prosecutor of the city of Vahdat, and traffic specialists arrived at the scene. An investigation is underway and all circumstances of the incident are being clarified. –0–
