On June 30, the members of the Academic Council gathered to discuss the initial indicators of the admissions campaign, the opening of new Centers, the awarding of academic titles, and other work-related issues.
Traditionally, they began with the congratulatory part. Letters of appreciation “For active assistance in the selection of citizens for military service under contract in unmanned systems units” from the Commander of the troops of the Southern Military District were received by the rector of GUU Vladimir Stroev, vice-rectors Vitaliy Lapshenkov, Pavel Pavlovsky, and Dmitry Bryukhanov, and the director of the Institute of Personnel Management, Social and Business Communications Alexey Chudnovsky.
Letters of appreciation “For the high results of the students of the GSOM Pre-University Program in the Unified State Exam 2026” were presented by the rector to the director of the GSOM Pre-University Program Marina Grigoryeva and teachers Ekaterina Goryainova, Igor Korchenko, Anna Ledeneva, Anastasia Menshikova, and Ekaterina Polosova.
“This year, the graduates of the Pre-University program especially pleased us with their results: several students scored 100 points on the Unified State Exam, more than 50 received gold and silver medals for academic achievements. This is the result of the joint efforts of students, teachers, and parents. I hope that on September 1, we will meet our excellent students again, this time as GUU university students,” noted Vladimir Stroeve.
The birthday celebrants of the month were not left unnoticed, receiving gifts and flowers from the university leader.
Vadim Dikikh, Director of the Digital Admissions and Translation Department at the university, reported on the initial results of the admission campaign, noting growth in several indicators and key trends.
“The submission of documents has almost entirely moved to the digital space: over 6200 applications have been submitted through the EPGU, while only 300 were in person. This is more than during the same period last year. Additionally, there are already about 100 applications for postgraduate studies, which significantly exceeds the activity of recent years. Our in-person reception is also operational: volunteers greet guests, and experts are ready to provide consultations,” said Vadim Dikikh.
Acting Vice-Rector Nikolai Mikhailov proposed to present Vice-Rector Pavel Pavlovsky with a Letter of Appreciation from the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. He noted the vice-rector’s merits in the field of youth policy and the joint organizational activities implemented under his leadership.
Vice-Rector Marina Karelina proposed the establishment of a Scientific and Methodological Center for the Development of a Value-Oriented Approach in the Education System within the structure of GUU.
“In agreement with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and other structures, we plan to organize such an ‘Identity Center.’ A vast network of centers with various focuses in this field has been established in the country, and the State University of Management has sufficient experience to create a new growth point, including for the training of scientific and teaching personnel,” concluded Maria Karelina.
Vice-Rector Dmitry Bryukhanov noted another strong point of our university – digital technologies, and therefore suggested opening a Competence Center for Data Management, which will serve as a platform for training specialists in this field and ensure its diversity.
Both proposals were adopted unanimously.
In addition, a vote was held at the meeting for candidates for teaching positions and the awarding of academic titles. As a result of the secret ballot, all candidates were approved. The agenda also included issues of assigning staff to departments, updating the list of continuing professional education programs, awarding classifications, and other operational matters.
