Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev made a working visit to the Republic of Buryatia. The Vice Premier assessed the progress of work at the under-construction wastewater treatment facilities and inspected the main agricultural university of the Baikal region.
In the capital of the republic, Ulan-Ude, Dmitry Patrushev reviewed the situation and held a meeting on the reconstruction of treatment facilities in the region. The meeting was attended by Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Alexander Kozlov, who visited the site in Severobaikalsk, Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Irek Faizullin, Head of the Republic of Buryatia Alexey Tsydenov, and the leadership of FAU “RosKapStroy”.
“Both projects have high social significance. The full operation of these projects largely determines the quality of life for more than half a million residents of the region. In addition, the quality of wastewater, of course, affects the condition of Lake Baikal and its ecosystem. Therefore, we are all interested in the swift implementation of these projects,” said Dmitry Patrushev.
Following the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Construction to promptly work out solutions for all problematic issues related to the reconstruction of treatment facilities in Ulan-Ude and Severobaikalsk, in order to accelerate the pace of work.
In addition, during the working trip, Dmitry Patrushev and the head of the region Alexey Tsydenov visited the Buryat State Agricultural Academy named after V.R. Filippov. Since 2022, the university has been participating in the “Priority-2030. Far East” program. The university is engaged in training and retraining agricultural, veterinary, engineering, economic specialists and scientific personnel for the agro-industrial complex. The Academy specializes in medicinal crop cultivation, developing technologies for growing medicinal herbs, and conducting research on fodder, grain, and vegetable crops at experimental sites.
The Deputy Prime Minister visited training laboratories and familiarized himself with the university’s projects in the field of digitalization and implementation of unmanned technologies. One of these projects is related to the introduction of future agrobiotechnologies in agriculture. Among other things, datasets are being created for automatic recognition of cultivated plants, weeds, diseases, and pests at different phases of growth and development of spring wheat and white cabbage. Here, a full-cycle technological chain has been formed – from data acquisition using unmanned aerial systems to their processing, annotation, training of artificial intelligence models, and subsequent implementation of developed solutions into the digital platform “Agrika.” The monitoring accuracy will exceed 90%.
In the field of forestry, a software-analytical complex called ‘LesScout’ is being developed at the university for automated determination of species composition and assessment of sanitary conditions of forest stands based on multi- and hyperspectral technologies.
