Beijing, June 30 /Xinhua/ — China has decided to impose temporary anti-dumping measures on imports of pea starch originating from Canada, starting from July 1 of this year. This was reported on Tuesday by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.
This statement was made following the issuance of a preliminary decision based on the results of the anti-dumping investigation initiated by the Ministry of Commerce on August 12, 2025.
The investigating authority has preliminarily established that the import of pea starch, originating from Canada, was associated with dumping, which caused significant damage to the relevant Chinese industry. At the same time, there is a causal link between the dumping and the threat of real damage.
In accordance with China’s anti-dumping legislation, provisional anti-dumping measures are represented by the imposition of deposits.
From July 1, importers of the product under investigation will be required to make deposits with Chinese customs authorities at rates set by the aforementioned preliminary decision for each company.
