With the onset of darkness, lights are lit one after another along the walls of the ancient city of Jingzhou in Hubei province, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. In recent years, Jingzhou has been restoring and modernizing old buildings in historic and cultural districts, and creating new iconic sites of the “night economy.” This approach allows for simultaneously addressing the task of preserving cultural monuments and meeting tourism needs, attracting residents and tourists, and helping the millennia-old ancient city to gain new energy.
