The largest industry conference on urban development, URBANKONF-2026, was held in Saint Petersburg. Among the speakers at the event was an assistant of the Department of Landscape Architecture of the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.Pavel Ostapchuk.
Within the framework of the business program of the conference, Pavel Ostapchuk delivered a report dedicated to the development of the therapeutic urban environment. In his speech, he raised a number of serious problems, focusing attention on the need for an integrated approach, and proposed introducing a new concept of “therapeutic planning.”
A special place in the report was given to practice-oriented training of future landscape architects at the Department of Landscape Architecture of SPbGASU using the example of the project “Quarter of the Future,” dedicated to the memory of the Doctor of Architecture, Professor of SPbGASUValery Anatolyevich Nefyodov.
Participation in URBANKONF-2026 is yet another confirmation of the high level of expertise of the SPbGASU teachers and the active contribution of the university to the development of the industry. The discussion of current trends and the exchange of experience with leading specialists in the country contribute not only to the improvement of the university’s scientific research activities but also to the formation of new educational practices.
