Tashkent, June 27 /Xin Hua/ — Uzbekistan plans to increase the share of cashless payments to 75%, and to halve the size of the shadow economy by 2030. This was announced by the press service of the head of Uzbekistan.
According to the data of the Central Bank of the republic, as of the beginning of May of the current year, the share of non-cash payments increased to 47 percent compared to 43 percent a year earlier.
As noted in the press service of the head of state, the share of the country’s shadow economy remains high. Earlier, the head of state instructed to create a unified digital platform that, using the capabilities of artificial intelligence, will display the risks of the shadow economy, potential budget losses, and additional sources of income, as well as help identify and eliminate factors that contribute to the emergence of shadow operations.
