SuperJop Portal and Roscosmos State Corporation have published anotherRanking of the best universities in Russia by the salary level of IT specialists who graduated from university in 2020–2025. The rating is based on the analysis of the labor market, demand for graduates, and the reputation of educational programs in the field of information technologies. NSU traditionally ranks among the top ten, and this year it has risen by one position — from 7th to 6th.

A position in such a ranking is an indicator that graduates of NGU are in demand by employers: they are invited for internships and permanent teams, showing a high level of technical training and readiness for real projects. For students and applicants, this is a signal of the quality of education and the possibility of employment after graduation., — commentedSvetlana Dovgal, director of the Career Development Center of the National Research University.

Among the key factors that contributed to the improvement of HSE’s positions in the ranking were the updating of curricula taking industry demand into account, the expansion of practice-oriented courses and laboratories, active cooperation with IT companies, as well as the increase in the number of applied projects and internships for students. In addition, the career support and the programs of the HSE Career Development Center played an important role in enhancing students’ competitiveness in the labor market.

If you look at the employment statistics of our graduates, the IT sector ranks second after science. There is traditionally a very close relationship between employers and faculties that train IT specialists. Companies actively engage in the educational process, read courses, and invite students for internships. For example, at the Faculty of Information Technologies of NSU, joint educational and research laboratories have been created with Sber, SHIFT, and Postgres Professional. At the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty, joint master’s programs are implemented with the Yandex Data Analysis School and the state corporation “Rosatom”., — addedSvetlana Dovgal.

IT majors are in the top 5 in terms of the number of budget places at NSU. They are now offered in almost every faculty: both specialized ones, such as the Faculty of Information Technologies, the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty, the Physics Faculty, and also at the Institute of Intelligent Robotics, Medicine and Medical Technologies, and the Humanities Institute. New educational directions are emerging, which are implemented at the intersection of certain subject areas and IT, and with the support of industrial partners. For example, the “Medical Cybernetics” program, which appeared at NSU in 2025; the “Applied Artificial Intelligence” program, which is part of a federal project for training top specialists in the AI field and whose partner is IT-holding T1.

In recent years, interest in IT specialties has traditionally been very high: according to the results of the 2025 admission campaign, the direction “Informatics and Computer Technology” was in first place in terms of the increase in the number of applications from applicants. As part of the current admission campaign, which started on June 20, the IT direction is also among the top 5 most demanded.

It is pleasant to note that the quality of graduates from NGU in IT specialties is traditionally highly rated at the level of Russia. An example is the SuperJobs rating, in which NGU again took high positions., — summed upMikhail Lavrentyev, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technologies of NGU, Corresponding Member of the RAS.
