Bishkek, June 26 /Xin Hua/ — The system of coordinates of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has gained possibilities and meanings that attract a multitude of Eurasian countries interested in strengthening the “Shanghai spirit.” This was reported by the Kyrgyz national news agency Kabar, citing the chairman of the Congress of Kyrgyzstan experts, former ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to China Kanaiym Baktygulova.
“The evolution of the SCO demonstrates the formation of a new model of international interaction in Eurasia, based on a combination of national interests and collective responsibility for regional stability and development,” noted K. Baktygulov, believing that the expansion of areas of cooperation, from security and economy to education, digitalization, culture, and humanitarian exchanges, contributes to strengthening mutual understanding between states and peoples.
“In this context, the SCO gradually forms its own system of norms and practices of cooperation, which is based on mutual respect, equality, and the aspiration to achieve common goals while preserving the national identity of each participant,” she added.
According to the former ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to China, the establishment of a special political culture within the organization is no less important. “The expansion of the SCO and the involvement of states with various historical traditions, political systems, and development models have demonstrated the viability of the principle of respect for national sovereignty and the right of each state to independently determine their own development paths,” she stated.

Baktygulova, the SCO does not strive to unify the political models of its participants, but creates conditions for coordinating interests through dialogue, searching for compromises and mutual trust. “That is exactly why the organization has become a platform where countries are capable of developing collective decisions without pressure and interference in each other’s internal affairs,” he emphasized.
