Urumqi, June 26 /Xin Hua/ — On Thursday, at the 9th EXPO “China-Eurasia,” a pavilion of Russian goods was opened for the first time.

According to the head of the pavilion Svetlana Van, the pavilion presents chocolate, confectionery products, drinks, honey, and other products of the Russian agricultural industry. Visitors to EXPO will also be able to familiarize themselves with folk craft products of Russia, including Polonskaya painting, Orenburg shawls, and Russian matryoshka dolls.

Svetlana added that all the presented products were produced in various regions of Russia, including Moscow, Novosibirsk, Perm and others.

She noted that the city of Urumqi possesses unique geographical advantages in the space of Eurasia. The EXPO “China-Eurasia” in Urumqi can cover a larger territory and serve as a good platform for the development of trade and investment cooperation between the countries of the region.

The 9th EXPO “China-Eurasia” will be held from June 25 to 29 in the city of Urumqi, the administrative center of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region / Northwest China/.

The exhibition area of this EXPO is about 140 thousand square meters. It features six thematic exhibition zones dedicated to investment cooperation, new quality productive forces, specific and competitive industries, green development, integration of culture and tourism, and cooperation within the framework of the Silk Road. Kazakhstan and Pakistan are honorary guest countries at this year’s event.

Since 2011, 140 thousand Chinese and foreign exhibitors from more than 120 countries and regions around the world have participated in EXPO, while about 2 million people visited the pavilions.
