The DPR Embassy in Russia spoke about how media projects help diplomacy, and influencers are becoming part of international projects.

On June 23, representatives of the State University of Management attended the solemn opening ceremony of the media projects competition and the Open Day for internet celebrities, which took place at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Russia.

The delegation included: Head of the International Cooperation Department Inessa Bogatyreva, Head of the International Projects Implementation Department Konstantin Vinogradov, Head of the Department of Management in the Field of Culture, Cinema, Television and Entertainment Industry Artur Arakelyan, his deputy Anna Akopyan, and first-year students majoring in “Management in Cinema and Television”.

Ambassador KNR Zhang Hanxue emphasized that new media have become the most important bridge for people’s diplomacy, and gave examples of how digital content governs global cultural connections.

The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova, who spoke at the UN at the beginning of the year, noted the key role of bloggers creating video content at the intersection of travel and analytics, and the positive effects of integrating influencer marketing into government and international projects.

An important element of the meeting was the announcement of the content competition in the new media “Creativity Overcomes Mountains and Seas, Friendship between China and Russia Strives into the Future”, jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy and the VK holding.

VK CEO Vladimir Kirienko noted that Russians’ interest in Chinese culture is steadily growing, and the joint project will allow even more people to get acquainted with the country’s unique culture.
