In the second half of June, the first meeting was held in the city of Yinchuan to establish trade and economic cooperation between China (Ningxia) and Central Asia. Representatives of chambers of commerce and industry and enterprises from Central Asian countries and neighboring regions gathered together with representatives of the relevant departments, industry organizations, and enterprises of Ningxia Province for joint exploration of development opportunities.
The conference was organized by the Ningsa subcommittee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Chinese co-chair of the Secretariat of the “China-Central Asia” business council. The event program was rich and well-organized. At the plenary session, the needs of enterprises were presented and the results of projects were announced. Parallel sessions were also held on three main directions: trade and investment, specialized agriculture, and new energy sources.Holding the conference contributed to the creation of a platform for accurate and effective interaction between enterprises of Ningxia Province and Central Asian countries.
Characteristic leading products and achievements of Ninxia’s industrial development were presented and demonstrated at the event. Presentations, tastings, and negotiations were integrated into the communication process, which allowed a comprehensive demonstration of Ninxia’s industrial potential and its openness to the outside world. As a result of preliminary contacts, agreements were reached on 23 cooperation projects in the areas of import-export trade, agriculture, new energy sources, new materials, and other sectors.
Currently, trade and economic ties between China and the countries of Central Asia are demonstrating high growth dynamics. In 2025, the total volume of goods trade between the parties reached 106.3 billion US dollars. Ningsia, as an important hub of the ancient Silk Road and a pilot zone of an open-type economy in the inland region, possesses significant geographical advantages. In 2025, the volume of import-export trade of the province with five Central Asian countries reached 284 million yuan, which is 126% more than in the previous year.The structure of goods largely coincides with the international one, the trade growth rates are quite impressive, and the potential for cooperation is enormous.
