Polytech and the Academy of Urban Environment Management Create a Unified Personnel Training Trajectory

Saint Petersburg Peter the Great Polytechnic University and the Academy of Urban Environment Management, Urban Planning and Printing have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at the development of educational activities and the integration of secondary vocational and higher education. The new partnership opens up additional learning opportunities for students of the Polytechnic. The agreement was signed by the Vice-Rector for Educational Activities of SPbPU Lyudmila Pankova and the Director of AUGSGiP Anatoliy Krivonosov.

The agreement provides for joint work on professional orientation of students at the academy, including conducting off-site lectures, open days, and professional competitions. A separate strategic direction will be the synchronization of curricula, which will ensure a smooth transition and accelerated training of college graduates for bachelor’s and specialist programs at SPbPU.Partnership opens new opportunities for developing joint programs of additional professional education, forming interdisciplinary student teams, as well as for joint organization and participation in international conferences.

At the Academy of Urban Environment Management, Urban Planning, and Printing, more than 5 thousand students are trained, 73 educational programs of secondary vocational education are implemented, and one program for the training of skilled workers. The key areas of training include architecture, construction and operation of buildings, roads and airfields, installation and operation of internal sanitary devices, information modeling in construction, land management, jurisprudence, design, garden-park and landscape construction, and others.

The signing of the agreement with the Academy of Urban Environment Management, Urban Planning and Printing has become an important stage in the development of the continuous learning ecosystem of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University of Peter the Great. We see great potential in synchronizing educational programs of secondary and higher education, which will allow academy graduates to seamlessly continue their studies at SPbPU.I am confident that the partnership will become a model of effective interaction between institutions of secondary professional and higher education and will make a significant contribution to the training of engineering personnel,” noted the Vice-Rector for Educational Activities of SPbPU Lyudmila Pankova.

The implementation of the agreement will allow the formation of a sustainable mechanism for continuous training of highly qualified personnel, uniting programs of secondary professional and higher education and strategic partnership with companies — industry leaders.
