Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin held a working meeting with the Head of the Republic of Buryatia, Alexey Tsydenov, during which the parties discussed the socio-economic development of the region, the implementation of the national project “Infrastructure for Life,” as well as key infrastructure projects being carried out in the republic.
“Under the instruction of the President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, active work is underway on the development of the Far East, including the Republic of Buryatia. The key task within the framework of the national project ‘Infrastructure for Life’ is to improve the living environment in the support settlements by 30% by 2030. In Buryatia, 24 settlements have been included, where about 620 thousand people live. Primary attention is given to housing and road construction. Since the beginning of this year, the volume of housing commissioning amounts to 278.5 thousand square meters. In a normative state, 82.2% of federal and 53% of regional roads are paved.””Work in Buryatia is proceeding steadily, but in a number of areas it is necessary to strengthen efforts in order to achieve higher results,” noted Marat Khusnullin.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that infrastructure loans would provide an additional impetus to development. The Presidium (headquarters) of the Government Commission on Regional Development had previously approved the provision of treasury infrastructure loans to the republic in the amount of about 3 billion rubles. The funds will be directed, among other things, to the modernization of the communal infrastructure. As part of the road activity plan, the reconstruction of bridges and overpasses on the federal highway R-258 “Baikal” is planned.
