Beijing, June 25 /Xinhua/ — On Thursday, the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC called on the USA to immediately cease the mistaken practice of including an even greater number of Chinese enterprises in the so-called “China military companies list,” stating that China will have to take countermeasures.
The actions of the United States have caused serious damage to the legal rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, due to which China is forced to take retaliatory measures, said the official representative of the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC, Xie Yadun, at the latest press conference.
In order to ensure national security and protect China’s interests, as well as to fulfill international obligations such as non-proliferation, on June 22, two Chinese agencies announced measures to include 10 American organizations, including Aveox, Inc., in the export control list, as well as measures to ban the purchase of products produced by 46 American companies listed, within the framework of government procurement, he said.
Noting that the above-mentioned American companies are enterprises connected with the military sphere, he called on the American side to cooperate with China in order to maintain and develop Chinese-American relations of constructive strategic stability.
