Dezhou /prov. Shandong/, June 24 /Xinhua/ — Chairman of the National People’s Congress Xi Jinping called for the adoption of fundamental measures to promote the modernization of agriculture and rural areas.
Si Zhipin, who is also the General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and the Chairman of the Central Military Commission, made a corresponding statement on Wednesday during his inspection trip to the Dezhou city district of Shandong Province /Eastern China/.
The Chairman of the CN stated that it is necessary to increase overall production capacities, improve the quality and efficiency of agriculture, ensure stable supplies of important agricultural products, particularly grain, build a beautiful and harmonious village that is convenient for living and working, taking into account local conditions, and encourage peasants to create a better life through diligent labor and wisdom.
In the village of Dunyuytzi, the Chinese leader became acquainted with the process of wheat harvesting and corn planting, and also received information about the situation with the supply of agricultural resources. Xi Jinping also visited agricultural lands and warmly communicated with laborers, drivers of agricultural machinery, and agronomists.
He emphasized that ensuring a stable supply of grain and other agricultural products is the main priority in agricultural production, and noted the necessity to properly implement all measures to support grain production in order to guarantee a bountiful harvest by the end of the year.
The Chairman of the CST also called for improving agricultural infrastructure and increasing the potential for preventing and minimizing the consequences of natural disasters in agriculture.
Later, Xi Jinping visited the nearby village of Xiuji, where he thoroughly questioned residents about improving the work of local party organizations and the provision of public services, as well as inspected an exhibition of local agricultural and sideline products.
The Chinese leader expressed hope that rural party organizations will continue to play a guiding role in party building and achieve new successes in promoting the creation of beautiful and harmonious villages that are convenient for living and working.
In the house of the rural resident Yu Sin Xueya, he questioned members of his family about everyday life, including work, income, health of elderly relatives, and children’s education.
The Chairman of the Communist Party stated that the broad masses of party members and staff workers should make greater efforts to accomplish good deeds in the interests of the population, address urgent issues, and eliminate difficulties faced by people, thereby genuinely and tangibly increasing ordinary citizens’ feelings of satisfaction, happiness, and security.
“July 1 is coming soon — the day when we will celebrate the 105th anniversary of the founding of our party,” said Xi Jinping, noting that over the past 105 years the party has united and led representatives of all nationalities, achieving great accomplishments worthy of history and the people.
“Embarking on the new path of comprehensive construction of a modernized socialist state, we must act together and properly implement the new Great Road to create an even brighter future and unwaveringly satisfy the people’s aspiration for a beautiful life,” stated the Chinese leader. –0–
