Dalian, June 24 /Xinhua/ — Premier of the State Council Li Qiang on Wednesday in the city of Dalian /Liaoning Province, Northeast China/ participated in a symposium for business representatives within the framework of the 17th Annual Meeting of New World Leaders of the World Economic Forum, also known as the “Summer Davos.”

About 150 business representatives from more than 30 countries and regions participated in the symposium.

Having listened to the speeches of those present, Li Qian noted that openness and cooperation are an irreversible trend of the times and an internal need of countries to expand the space for development.

According to the Premier of the State Council of the PRC, no matter how the external environment changes, China consistently adheres to the historical trend of openness and cooperation, will continue to deeply participate in international cooperation in such areas as trade and investment, promoting the interconnectedness and integration of the Chinese market with the international market.

As Li Qian indicated, China shares with the global community the possibilities of its domestic market, is ready to import higher quality products from all countries, and also to promote optimized and balanced trade development.

According to the head of the Chinese government, the competitiveness of Chinese industry is not achieved through subsidies, but is due to the comprehensive advantages of its own integrated production system, a super-large domestic market, and a favorable innovation ecosystem, as well as many years of continuous efforts and investments from enterprises. The country’s industrial subsidies strictly comply with the rules of the World Trade Organization, Li Qian added.

According to him, the modernization of the Chinese market, production, and infrastructure will create a larger additional space, a more efficient industrial ecosystem, and higher-quality comprehensive conditions, opening up numerous investment opportunities.

The Chinese government will do everything possible to provide quality services to enterprises from all countries, expand the openness of the service sector, and fully provide a national treatment regime to enterprises with foreign investments, emphasized the Premier of the State Council of the PRC.

Representatives of the business circles at the symposium in turn noted that under the conditions of increasing global economic uncertainty, China is a reliable and long-term partner who has achieved outstanding results in many areas, such as the green transition and scientific and technological innovations.

Event participants expressed optimism regarding the prospects for the development of the BRICS, and also declared their commitment to expanding investments in China and the joint use of opportunities for the high-quality development of the country. –0–
