Beijing, June 24 /Xinhua/ — The 23rd session of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of the 14th convocation opened on Tuesday in Beijing to consider a number of draft laws and reports.

The first plenary meeting of the session was chaired by the chairman of the 14th NPC session, Chzao Lezi.

Legislators considered a number of bills, including a bill on the protection of public interests by the prosecutor in the judicial process, a bill on activities in Antarctica and environmental protection, a bill on the staff of the state fire and rescue service, and a bill on finance.

Legislators also considered draft amendments to the Trademark Law, the Government Procurement Law, the Law on Trading and Tenders, the Law on the People’s Bank of China, the Law on Certified Public Accountants, and the Lawyer Law.

They also considered the report on the execution of the central government budget for 2025, the audit report on the execution of the central government budget for 2025, and other budget reports and estimates, the report on the qualifications of deputies, and projects of decisions regarding the appropriate personnel reshuffle.
