Beijing, June 23 /Xinhua/ — After the outbreak of the Ebola virus, China has provided emergency humanitarian aid to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the African Union, and has also specially sent a team of medical experts with extremely necessary medicines and anti-epidemic supplies to the DRC to combat the deadly virus. Currently, about 1,000 medical workers are fighting Ebola side by side with Africans, said official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Gao Yuchun, on Monday at the regular departmental press conference.
China and African countries have always been and remain brothers and partners who share a common future and together overcome difficulties and challenges, and China has provided Africa with strong support in the fight against Ebola for many years, said the Chinese diplomat.

According to the diplomat, taking into account the seriousness of the epidemic outbreak, the Chinese government has decided to provide additional emergency humanitarian aid to the DRC, Uganda, and the African Union.
