Doha, June 22 /Xinhua/ — An explosion thundered on Sunday in the industrial city of Ras Laffan in Qatar, resulting in at least 54 people injured, with another 18 reported missing. This was reported on Monday by the country’s Ministry of Interior.
Ras Laffan, where Qatar’s main export terminal for natural gas is located, was hit by Iran during the war and subsequently remained closed for several weeks.
The department’s report states that the explosion occurred when workers tried to resume operations at the Barzan plant.
