Tbilisi, June 20 /Sina ua/ — Georgia will purchase school uniforms for students of primary school grades of public schools for the 2026-2027 academic year from the company LLC “Glory Textile Industry,” whose production facilities are located in China. This was reported on Saturday by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia.
Minister of the department Givi Mikanadze stated that an agreement has already been signed with the company that won the tender, which will be engaged in sewing school uniforms for primary school students. According to him, the supply of school uniforms will be carried out in stages, and a detailed schedule of its distribution will be published during the summer.
He also noted that during the summer period, the authorities of Georgia disclose information about the cost of one set of school uniforms and the procedure for providing them to the population in various cities and municipalities of the country.
According to him, according to the decision of the Prime Minister of Georgia, school uniforms will be provided free of charge to students, the family rating of which, according to the Ministry of Health data, is less than 60 thousand points.
