Moscow, June 19 /Xinhua/ — The photo exhibition “From the ‘Follower’ to the ‘Leader'”, dedicated to the achievements of China’s scientific and technological development, was held on Thursday at the PRC embassy in Moscow. The project highlights the country’s achievements in space exploration, energy, transport, and other high-tech industries. An excursion for the event participants was organized at the exhibition.
“Today China has elevated scientific and technological innovations to the level of the most important strategic priority. A high level of scientific and technological support helps the country develop new production capacities and promote modernization,” said Zhang Hanyu, the Ambassador of China to Russia, at the event.
According to him, the country has already become a leader in the fields of artificial intelligence, biomedicine, robotics, and quantum technologies. “Joint efforts of China and Russia allow for the consistent development of interaction in the areas of science, technology, and innovation. Joint research and cooperation in the fields of space, nuclear energy, artificial intelligence, new materials, biomedicine, and polar studies help the economy and improve the well-being of our peoples,” the diplomat added.
Assistant to the President of Russia for Science and Education Andrei Fursenko highly praised the level of bilateral scientific cooperation. “The Russian Science Foundation and the National Natural Science Foundation of China have formed one of the largest programs of bilateral scientific interaction. Every second international project of the Russian Science Foundation is implemented with the participation of scientists from China. It is precisely through friendship between representatives of the two countries that the tree of interaction in science and education grows, which we cultivate together.”Interaction between our countries is attractive and beneficial for both sides,” he emphasized.
Exhibition visitors also shared their impressions. The candidate of technical sciences, head of the industrial robotics laboratory at MGTU “STANKIN” Madin Shereuzhev stated that the pace of technological development in China is striking. “If earlier it was an incredible scale, now it is also quality. This is especially evident in the development of artificial intelligence, automotive engineering, and robotics,” he said.
Junior Research Fellow of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Rodion Kudakaev noted that the exhibition clearly demonstrates the uniqueness of the Chinese model of modernization. “Starting from launching rockets and ending with coordinating the movement of robots, it conveys the spirit of the times very well,” he shared his impressions.
On May 30, China celebrated the 10th National Science and Technology Workers Day. On this occasion, at the country’s embassy in Russia on Thursday, a solemn reception and the 7th ceremony of awarding the Ambassador’s Prize to the People’s Republic of China were also held.
