Beirut, June 19 /Sin Hua/ — At least 16 people were killed as a result of a series of Israeli airstrikes on Friday morning targeting residential neighborhoods in the Nabatiyeh area in southern Lebanon. This was reported by the country’s National Information Agency.

Strikes were carried out on the cities of Haruf, Ash-Sharqiya, and Kfar-Sir, as well as on Kfar-Remmena, Kfar-Tibnitu, and other nearby settlements. There are reports of casualties and injuries, several people are listed as missing.

Nabatiya and the surrounding areas were subjected to one of the most intense nightly attacks in recent months, as Israeli forces intensified attacks across the region. At approximately 1:30 local time / 22:30 GMT Thursday, the city of Nabatiya and the populated areas of Kfar Remmen, Zebdin, Nabatiya-el-Fawqa, Khaboush, Sadjad, and Jabal al-Rihan were subjected to massive artillery shelling.

Around 2:10 Israel carried out a series of airstrikes on Nabatiyeh, Kfar Tibnit, Nabatiyeh-el-Fawka, and the Rihan heights.

Around 03:00, two more series of Israeli airstrikes hit Kfar Remmen, the university district of the city of Nabatiya, and the residential area of Baydar in Kharoufe. As a result, according to preliminary data, eight people were killed. Another strike was carried out on the area between the cities of Sharkia and Duwayr, resulting in the destruction of a residential building and the death of four people.

At the same time, Israeli artillery subjected the Ralibat neighborhood in the city of Nabatiyeh to intensive shelling.

In Kfar-Sira, three people were killed as a result of an Israeli airstrike. Around 4:00, another strike was carried out on the city of Ksaib, accompanied by artillery shelling of the outskirts of both settlements. Later, additional airstrikes were carried out on Kfar-Jalyu and Kfar-Tibnit.

Around 05:00, an Israeli drone attacked a motorcycle near the building of the Duyir mayor’s office, as a result of which one person died, and another was injured. –0–
