First Deputy Chairman of the Government Denis Manturov held a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art. The Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova, representatives of federal and regional executive authorities, business, culture and public organizations participated in the work.
Participants discussed the main results achieved since the first meeting of the Board of Trustees in November 2025, including issues related to repairs, restoration, and construction of the new museum complex. Repairs have already been completed in one group of cloakrooms, sanitary zones, and a cafe, which became an important step in creating a more comfortable and modern environment for museum visitors.
The first deputy prime minister noted that significant positive changes occurred in the museum over the past year, and thanked the members of the board of trustees for their work.
Separate attention at the meeting was given to the new concept for the museum’s development, a project overseen by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. The key directions for the museum’s further development were outlined, including its role as a leading center for the preservation, study, and popularization of decorative arts and the traditions of national culture.
The first meeting of the board of trustees took place in the autumn of 2025. Olga Lyubimova noted that all decisions made at this meeting received prompt administrative support. “The Ministry of Culture of Russia actively participated in developing the key strategic tasks of the museum, which is confirmed by the growth of the annual subsidy allocated for fulfilling the government assignment,” she emphasized.
Denis Manturov, Olga Lyubimova, and other members of the board of trustees familiarized themselves with the current museum exhibitions. In particular, guests were introduced to the new exhibition “Gusev Glass: Color, Light, Form.” The project is a continuation of the exhibition series “Industry,” which the museum implements under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in collaboration with enterprises of folk decorative arts and crafts.
