Three years ago, the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, launched the movement for the Aksay bypass in the Rostov region and the further western bypass of Krasnodar. During this time, more than 30 million passages were recorded on the new section of the M-4 “Don” highway. This was reported by the Deputy Chairman of the Government Marat Khusnullin.

These facilities were built within the framework of the modernization of one of the country’s key routes, leading to the Black Sea and Azov coasts. According to Vyacheslav Petushenko, Chairman of the Board of the state company “Avtodor”, the peak load on this section is usually observed during the summer period when Russians go on vacation to the Black Sea, and the absolute maximum traditionally falls on the last month of the season.
“In particular, the maximum value in the far western section of the Krasnodar bypass was reached in August last year – about 715 thousand passages per month. And for the summer months of 2025, almost 1.7 million passages were recorded on it. The high-speed bypass allows to divert transit traffic from the regional capital and provides a bypass route on the A-289 highway, acting as a connecting link with the Crimean Bridge. In May of this year alone, more than 278 thousand passages were recorded on it. The increase compared to May of the previous year was 12%. Meanwhile, for the convenience of users of highways, we continue to actively develop our road network.”Last year, in the far western suburbs of Krasnodar, two multifunctional roadside service zones were opened, thanks to which travel to the south of the country has become even more comfortable and safer,” noted Vyacheslav Petushenko.
