How to build a career in the restaurant business and what awaits the tourism industry – GUU delegates shared their experience at the VI International Tourism Forum “Travel!”.
The largest platform for discussing the prospects of tourism development, hospitality, and personnel training for the industry operated from June 10 to June 14 at VDNH.
Teachers of the department “Management in International Business and Tourism Industry” GUU Dmitry Akopyan and Anna Firsova gave a lecture “Career Management for Students in the Hotel and Restaurant Business” and introduced the audience to the opportunities for professional development and employment in the industry, noting the significant role of project-based learning.
Representatives of the State University of Management also took part in the work of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia’s stand “Tourism: Education and Opportunities,” which united leading Russian universities and representatives of the tourism industry. Participants discussed modern educational programs, career opportunities for youth, best practices of interaction between universities and employers, as well as prospects for the development of the industry.
In addition, students of GUU became acquainted with leading industry experts, learned about in-demand competencies, established professional contacts, and the project-based business game of the Ministry of Education and Science and Rosnano helped the students see real career trajectories in the field of tourism and hospitality.
A total of more than 5,000 people from all regions of Russia and more than 50 foreign countries took part in the events of the VI International Tourism Forum “Travel!”.
