Beijing, June 15 /Xinhua/ — China hopes that safe and free passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be restored as soon as possible, said on Monday the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Lin Qian, adding that China is ready to maintain contacts with countries of the region and the international community on relevant issues.
Thus, the Chinese diplomat answered the corresponding request from journalists at another departmental press conference. According to him, China took into account that the resumption of operations in the Strait of Hormuz was included in the first stage of the Memorandum of Understanding, agreed upon between Iran and the USA.
