Moscow, June 14 /Xin Hua/ — Russian President Vladimir Putin will participate next week in the event of the Russia — Association of Southeast Asian Nations /ASEAN/ summit in Kazan. According to TASS, the plan of the head of state was reported by the journalist of “Vesti” Pavel Zarubin.
The anniversary summit dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the establishment of dialogue relations between Russia and ASEAN will be held in Kazan from June 17 to 19. The summit will be attended by the Secretary-General of ASEAN Kao Kim Hourn.
A whole marathon of bilateral meetings is planned for V. Putin within the framework of the upcoming forum, press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov stated. The Kremlin will provide information about the upcoming summit events in the coming days.
Advisor to the President of Russia Anton Kobyakov recently noted that the task of the upcoming summit in Kazan is to strengthen all-encompassing cooperation and define new contours of interaction both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of multilateral associations.
“The implementation of the upcoming measures is intended to ensure the further development of strategic interaction between countries, based on fundamental principles of mutual respect, balanced consideration of interests, and orientation towards real benefits for the peoples of our states,” emphasized A. Kobyakov.
