Washington, June 12 /Xin Hua/ — Senior representatives of the national security agencies of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Iran held the first face-to-face meeting since the start of the American-Israeli military operation against the Islamic Republic on February 28. This was reported on Thursday by the American news agency Bloomberg, citing anonymous sources.
As the agency points out, this meeting marked a sharp turn for both sides against the backdrop of a growing awareness of the importance of calmer bilateral relations.
In the conflict, Iran has dealt more blows to the UAE than any other country, since Abu Dhabi has repeatedly retaliated and taken the most aggressive stance toward Iran among its Arab neighbors, Bloomberg reports.
Before the war, OAE was one of Iran’s largest trading partners. –0–
